A few weeks ago I covered the engagement ceremony, then a few days after that, the registry wedding for this Hindu couple (English and Canadian). As many of you know I have a fondness for black/white photography, but obviously the colour in these events is amazing! Particularly the women’s clothes and jewellery (the tikka on the forehead is fascinating). We had grey weather (pretty much the norm in London recently), but at least it wasn’t wet for the little outdoor shoot on Clapham Common.

A few weeks ago, we were, in hindsight, lucky with the weather. Little Angarika started off our afternoon in Battersea Park quite serious and wide-eyed, but the spring sunshine soon brought some smiles.

This was my first wedding of the year, auspiciously the weather was wonderful. The venue was the exotic Kensington Roof Gardens, great anytime but really comes into it’s prime when the weather is summery – here’s looking forward to summer! The pink flamingos were also on good form. Fun people, friendly staff, a great time all round. The clients are actually also commercial clients of mine and I had shot the wedding of another in the family a few years ago.

A few weeks ago I had a portrait commission at the wonderful Carnegie Club in northern Scotland. This estate is home to Skibo Castle, it’s own 18-hole golf course and more. Situated by stunning lochs, lodges dotted amongst the woods, swans gliding through the reeds…

And more importantly, we were lucky with the weather! A week or two later it snowed in Scotland. But on the day it was still touch and go. Would the mist clear?
